Beneficiaries of the ongoing two months skill acquisition scheme at the Cherubim and Seraphim Women Empowerment Center are set to be certified.
President of National Good Women wing, Supt Apostolic Mother Bolajoko Odeyinde JP, disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Seraph Youth Media Team.
The Empowerment Center situated at Seraphim Land, Maba, Ogun state, is hosting its first vocational training with 200 registered participants.
Mother Odeyinde however stated that the training which started in August would round off by October 2. She also noted that the an official graduation ceremony would hold on October 16, with special guests in attendance.
“This is the first batch of our earlier announced 2 months Intensive Vocational Training for members of our dear church across the nation. We started since August and by the Grace of God, this batch will come to an end on 2nd October, 2021. By the special Grace of God, we have about 200 beneficiaries graduating and to be certified officially on Saturday, 16th October 2021 with special guests in attendance.”
The Good Women leader further disclosed that the Center is currently running 10 vocations, adding that the beneficiaries were trained on Garment Making, Makeover and Gele, Interior Decoration, Chemicals, Catering, Fashion Designing, Hairdressing, Tie and dye, Shoe and Bag making as well as Photography.
When asked about those who qualify as beneficiaries, she said, “The empowerment training is open to all. This is irrespective of gender or distance. We have Seraphs, young & old, male & female coming from different parts of the country to benefit from the training.”
“For now we are partnering with an NGO, Motivated Women, for grassroot support. We also have professionals within the fold who volunteer to instruct and are still willing to accommodate more,” she further stated.
While appreciating Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi for singlehandedly putting the structure in place for such purpose, she also craved moral and financial supports needed to make the centre a standard one.
“Registration is currently ongoing, and forms are readily available at the centre. Although we intend to kick start in November, but the number of trainee registered will determine this,” she added.
