5 Takeaways From Night Of Divine Experience

The town of Sapade in Ogun state may have finally been registered in the psyche of seraphs and non seraphs following the recently held Night of Divine Encounter put up by The New Seraph.

Cited along Km 60 Lagos-Ibadan expressway just by an overhead bridge connecting the town, The New Seraph city where the vigil held witnessed a massive turnout of attendees.

The attendees who cut across existing demography sauntered into the venue upon emerging from their respective vehicles, just to be part of the much anticipated programme.

The vigil which spanned close to 12 hours was hosted by the head honcho of The New Seraph Initiative who also doubles as the Deputy Superintendent of Faith Mission C&S Church Inc, Dr. Oluseye Yomi-Sholoye.

In our stock in trade, Acts of Seraphs hereby highlights five takeaways from the programme.

THE TURNOUT: Being a maiden edition, the mobilization cum turnout for the programme were up to par. The level of publicity reeled out through various mediums and form, prior to the vigil, indeed commensurate with what was evident at the venue. The confines of the vigil ground had the attendees filled it to the brim. It is also worth to note that, despite a crowded sight to behold before dusk, seraphs thronged the venue of the programme up until 12 midnight.

EXHILARATING SESSIONS: Beyond the free buses that conveyed the attendees, there was apparently an expectation on their part as to what abounds at the vigil they were about to be part of. They, certainly, did not leave the venue disappointed as every session of the vigil was not without its own dose of divine encounter; right from the praise and worship session upon which the vigil commenced till the point it rounded up. It was indeed back to back.

THE WORD SECTION: Like the convener, Dr. Yomi Sholoye said during a press briefing that preceded the programme that it won’t be business as usual, this was obviously confirmed by the preacher, Pastor Segun Michael who successfully held the large crowd spellbound under his voice as he dished out the word of God, breathtakingly so. In what spanned well over an hour, the rapt attention he commanded during his sermon became more glaring with intermittent reactions from the congregants who craved more from him. The sermon, without doubt, thoroughly x-rayed the theme of the vigil.

THE NEW SERAPH TEAM: One peculiar characteristic of an average seraph is to put his or her all to ensuring that any programme put up by the church is successful. As being displayed in time past, so was it in the case of Night of Divine Experience. The New Seraph Team members that were saddled with one task or the other were at their usual best. The turn out and proper coordination of the programme ranging security, protocol, choir, bus coordinators, health officials and a host of others further accentuated the level of commitment they had put up to make it so.

AS CURIOSITY MEETS REALITY: There is no gainsaying the fact that the attendees were curious to see what the New Seraph is set to birth with the programme. After all, the word ‘new’ could not have done anything less of spurring such curiosity. Safe to also say that speculations were rife as to whether the new seraph is a break out of the C&S Unification Church. Speculations laced with certain beliefs that a larger percentage of the congregation might even don muftis while the ministers parade themselves in cassocks, including the convener; beliefs that the mode of worship may be altered or outrightly appear irreconcilable with what obtains in the C&S fold. Meanwhile, all these did not in anyway play out as observed by Acts of Seraphs. The mode of worship was not different from that of the C&S church even as a handful members of the C&S umbrella body could be seen in attendance with due recognition given to them. This passes for a credence to the position of the convener that the essence of the New Seraph is not to break out or foster disunity in the fold but to ensure that the spiritual essence of the church is restored through re-establishing the efficacy of the word of God, prayer and salvation of souls.
