Centenary: The Eternal, ESOCS Begin Reconciliation Talks

Hopes for a unified centenary celebration between The Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim & Seraphim (The Eternal) and the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim (ESOCS) have received a boost, as delegations from both churches recently met to explore avenues for collaboration.

Acts of Seraphs gathered that the meeting, held at the Federal Palace Hotel in the Victoria Island area of Lagos State, brought together key figures from both denominations.

A source present at the meeting told this platform that the meeting was held under a “brotherly” atmosphere.

“The meeting was held under a convivial and brotherly atmosphere, and in principle, it is possible for both denominations to come together, work together and also hold the centenary together.

“While looking at other issues, the common denominator is Baba Orimolade, whom they believe is the sole founder of the church,” the source said.

The Eternal delegation was led by Superintendent General Apostle Adekunle, while Deputy Baba Aladura, Elder Dr. Harold Demuren, led the ESOCS delegation.

Another source privy to the discussion disclosed that both sides agreed on the importance of engaging not just with each other, but also with other Cherubim and Seraphim churches around the world.

“Beyond the discussion on the possibility of a joint commemoration of our shared heritage, they also agreed to work with other bodies and other churches worldwide,” the source noted.

The meeting was convened at the instance of the founder of the New Seraph Evangelical Ministry, Her Grace Iya Aladura General Oluwaseye Yomi Sholoye.

Primate Dr. Luke Babasanya, who represented the clergywoman at the meeting, was said to have conveyed her ongoing commitment to peace and unity among all Seraph faithful.

Recall that Dr. Sholoye had earlier visited the leaders of both churches, where she pledged her support for interdenominational harmony ahead of the C&S centenary celebration.
