Renowned global evangelist, Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi, on Thursday admonished children and teenagers alike not to keep silent but speak up whenever they are sexually molested.
Speaking at the third edition of the Bold Show; a funfair programme organised by the children’s department of C&S Irawo Owuro in commemoration of children’s day celebration, the clergywoman also said they should resist any form of sexual temptation, as their body is the temple of the living God.
According to her, people who indulge in sexual abuse are those who are closely related to the victims.
“There are evil uncles and aunties all over the world. But you have to be very careful. Don’t keep secrets from anybody. If any uncle tells you not to tell your mother, it is a dangerous thing, go straight to your mother and tell her what happened.
“Let me tell you, there is a difference between love and infatuation. Most of those who claim they love you are only infatuated with your body. Some evil friends tell you it doesn’t matter. They tell you it’s just a little sin. But little sin eventually leads to great sin,” she added.
While citing the book of Proverbs 22:6, she charged the parents to train their children properly.
She said it was high time parents started teaching their children about the sexual aspect of their lives while they are young. Dwelling on the book of 2Samuel chapter 13, Mother Ajayi said this is the part of the scripture Christians don’t talk much about.
“Lecture and talk to your girl child about sex. Let them know what will happen to them when their period is out. You should also package your body well before your children.
Mother Ajayi also advised the kids on the importance and benefits of education, while claiming she loves whoever takes education, seriously.
She equally urged them to study their Bible always, just like she does everytime. While noting that evil communication corrupts good manners, she said a constant study of the word of God would influence what comes out of their mouth.
“Avoid evil communication that may mess up your character. You are peculiar and royal. You’re special, and a special person does not behave anyhow. My husband married me a virgin. I know no man before my husband. I’m not a concubine keeping pastor. I don’t do voodoo. I don’t mess around because I know my God is Holy. I know holiness and that is my hallmark,” she added.
In a separate charge, elder Niyi Afolabi urged the children to make a difference in whatever capacity they find themselves.
According to him, every child at a very young age needs to start having an entrepreneurial spirit.
“Start seeing the problem today and think of how you can solve it. Also structure the way you do things.”
“Look at yourself and think of how you can solve a problem. What contributions can I make? Anything you do, make sure you are the best person at it,” he added.
On the sideline of the event was the official launching of Amazing Children Foundation of Irawo Owuro C&S church.
