Christ Covenant Keeping Church Holds Harvest 2019

The book of Ecclesiastes says there’s a season to everything under heaven… A time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted.

To this end, Cherubim and Seraphim Christ Covenant Keeping Church, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State on Sunday 10th November, joined other bodies of Christ in celebrating the season of harvest.

The year 2019 harvest, themed: Lord of Harvest attracted people from nooks and crannies of the town and Akoko land.

The preacher of the day, Reverend Apostle Obamuyi of C&S Church of Zion, Akungba-Akoko in his sermon, affirmed that Christ is the Lord of Harvest.

In his words, “everything has someone who takes charge of it. As someone who teaches is called teacher, the one that takes charge of evangelism is called evangelist, and even a person that commits sin is called sinner, Christ is in charge of harvest.”

The guest preacher explained that harvest is the profit a person gets from his work.

Categorising harvest into two, he said on the one hand that harvest is what a person works for to receive the reward tomorrow.

Reverend Obamuyi explained on the other hand that harvest is what will happen at the end of our works on earth.

“Another meaning of harvest is what will happen on the last day, and what we plant on earth here will determine what will be our reward “.

Speaking from the book of John 15:1, the cleric implored the congregation to make sure they know Christ who is the True Vine. He added that everyone should make sure they are part of the labourers who takes care of the vineyard.

He further harped on submission of oneself to work for God, and posited that a Christian should not only pray but give back to God.

According to him, “Hannah said if you (God) give me a son, I will give him back to you “.

Reverend Obamuyi added that harvest is the end of the world, and enjoined the congregation to watch their ways so as not to be found wanting on the day of harvest.
