Renowned Seraph Evangelist and author, Elder Olufemi Adeyemi, says the Cherubim and Seraphim Church was once under attack by Christian missionaries, due to the uniqueness by which it was founded.
The cleric who made the disclosure in an exclusive video obtained by Acts of Seraphs, said some traditional rulers were also used as instruments against the church.
The Cherubim and Seraphim Church is celebrating 96 years today, September 9. It is also worthy of note that the church is the first Pentecostal mission to emerge from Africa, and was founded by St. Moses Orimolade Tunolase.
Baba Adeyemi who is known for his deep historical knowledge of the C&S Church, however, stated that the existence and display of raw manifestation of the power of God exhibited by its founder intimidated the missionaries.
According to him, no denomination has ever faced persecution in Africa like the C&S Church. He said, “Missionaries who brought Christianity to Africa went as far as calling on traditional rulers and instigating them to attack the C&S sect. They told them that the C&S style of religion did not mean well for their traditional institution.”
The Erin Ile-based cleric who shares the same birth date with the church also stated that, except for the universal hymnal of the Catholic, Anglican, and Presbyterian Churches, there is no denomination anywhere in the world that has its hymnal like the Cherubim and Seraphim Church.
He said these are hymnals that were inspired by the Holy Spirit regardless of the academic qualification of those who wrote them.
