It has been an outpouring of encomiums for Seraph Mary Yetunde Aina, following her victory at the International Boxing Championship bout against United Kingdom’s Laura Pain to clinch the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) International Super Bantamweight title belt at City Coast Centre in Portslade, East Sussex, London.
In the same vein, the female Seraph who serves in the Lagos State Police Command has been given a special promotion in the Nigeria Police Force on the order of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Usman Alkali Baba.
Seraph Mary otherwise known as (Iron Abbey) is a member, as well as a Chorister of C&S Church Of All Nations Gilgal, and a daughter to Bishop Pro Dr E.O Abbey, Primate In Charge Of Ona Igbala Church Of Israel Aladura, Temidire Branch Ayetoro.
With four (4) wins and three (3) knockouts, she won the championship bout based on unanimous decision on Friday, February 18, 2022, as the first Nigerian and African Female to achieve the feat.
Marveled at her victory, the IGP on Monday hosted the Seraph at the Force Headquarters, Garki, Abuja in company of the Force Management Team and the Force Sports Officer, DCP Patrick Atayero. He also commended her bravery, gallantry and steadfastness.
According to him, Aina has joined the long list of police officers who had distinguished themselves in the area of sports development in the country and across the globe.
He, therefore, awarded her a special promotion to the next rank of Corporal and a monetary reward.
Meanwhile, the Overseer of C&S Church Of All Nations (Gilgal) Messenger Prophet (Dr.) Olubode Sobukola (Jp) and the entire member has congratulated the WBF champion.
In a press release obtained by Acts of Seraphs from Gilgal Media, Prophet Shobukola said the female Seraph had distinguished herself greatly in the boxing sphere by winning several awards and recommendations as a Boxing Referee at the amateur level, adding that she is equally a renowned boxing judge and professional boxer with a clean sheet and several amateur wins to her name.
The cleric also described Seraph Mary as a devoted Christian and a committed Seraph with an unshakeable faith.
“To the glory of God of God we’re proud to say that a Seraph has clinched an International Champion yet again, it’s our prayer that the fold which the Lord has bestowed grace and power upon will continually grow from strength to strength and unquestionable power in Jesus name,” he said.
While quoting the book Ecclesiastes 9:10, Prophet Shobukola advised Seraph youths and Christians at large to be diligent in which that is committed into their hands.
“In any field you find yourself, any environment or atmosphere you find yourself, always strive to do that which will bring out the very best in you legally. Be diligent in that which is committed into your hands, be fervent in spirit and praise the Lord always. For in this are your reward of diligence embedded in,” he admonished.
