Eternal joint centenary celebration to encourage unity – Elder Demuren

The Deputy Baba Aladura of Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim, (ESOCS) His Eminence Elder Dr. Harold Demuren, has described the proposed joint centenary celebration as a celebration with no borders, with nobody left behind.

Acts of Seraphs reported that ESOCS, The Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim (The Eternal), and The New Seraph Evangelical Ministries (TNS) have agreed to jointly organise programmes for the centenary celebration of the church.

When contacted on Sunday, Elder Demuren said the singular action was to encourage deeper unity among the various groups in the C & S fold.

According to him, the main aim is to jointly celebrate Jesus Christ and the sole founder of the C & S Church, St Moses Orimolade Tunolase and to also give thanks and praises to God for His mercies and love to C&S members all over the world in the last 100 years.

The former Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, however, noted that discussions and arrangements were ongoing.

He said, “In 1925, Baba Mose Orimolade Tuolase named the Order Seraph at Ago Isofin on Lagos Island. This joint centenary celebration is a celebration with no borders and no one left behind. The main aim is to also jointly celebrate Jesus Christ and the sole founder of the C & S church, St Moses Orimolade Tunolase and to give thanks and praises to God for his mercies and love to C&S members all over the world in the last 100 years.”

“The founder of the New Seraph has been very keen on the joint centenary celebration and is also talking to both parties. So, discussions and arrangements are ongoing.”

Deputy Baba Aladura Demuren further disclosed with joy that all the members of the Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), founded by Baba DIM Otubu, have already declared to support the joint celebration, including other C&S church bodies.

The clergyman also expressed optimism that the joint centenary collaboration would open the way for long-term cooperation and reconciliation.

“The centenary celebration would not only honour our Lord Jesus Christ and the church’s founder, St. Moses Orimolade Tunolase, but also open the way for long-term cooperation and reconciliation among the Cherubim and Seraphim fold.

“The council of elders, the steering and the planning committees are working round the clock to ensure success. Every church can celebrate this on their own, but how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity,” he added.
