Evangelism remains a priority under my leadership – Baba Aladura Bob-Manuel

The Prelate of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim, His Most Eminence Baba Aladura David Bob-Manuel has said the church will continue to prioritise evangelism under his leadership.

He made this known during a press briefing held in Lagos on Wednesday in commemoration of his sixth induction anniversary.

The clergyman specifically noted that the drive for evangelism and winning souls for Christ had been enhanced since he assumed the leadership position.

He said, “Notably in the last six years the Church of God has witnessed an upsurge in the development of cathedrals and physical structures in most of our Provinces. The drive for evangelism and winning souls for Christ which is the primary goal of the Church had been enhanced and would continue to be pursued with passion.

“Article 2 of the Memorandum of Association (Constitution) provides: ‘To evangelise and to arouse the African in Nigeria in particular, and the whole world at large, to the practice of a spiritual Christian life and of those sublime principles of Christian charity and faith as taught by Christ Himself.’ Under my leadership, evangelism shall continue to take its prime position in the scheme of things in the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim.”

He explained that the theme of the Holy Order during the six years had been culled around righteousness and holiness.

While revealing the 2023 theme, “Made Alive in Christ” – John 10:10, Elder Bob-Manuel implored all faithful of the Holy Order and Christians at large to be alive in Christ in holiness and works of righteousness in order to put to end the works of the flesh as detailed in Galatians 5:19-21.

Elder Bob-Manuel who made his submission known on the prevalent issues in the country appealed to the federal government to encourage innovation and technology-driven entrepreneurship among the youthful population as a way of putting an end to social vices.
