It was a heartwarming scene at the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church IV, Ijoka Road, Akure, the Ondo State capital when one of the sisters in the church, Juliet Olorungbeja accepted a marriage proposal during the service.
Olorungbeja, a devoted member of the choir and an executive in the youth fellowship, was proposed to towards the end of the thanksgiving service held last Sunday.
While speaking with Acts of Seraphs, the Seraph sister who could barely recover from the proposition said it came as a surprise to her.
“I was so shocked, it really came as a surprise,” she cheerfully remarked.
A chorister, Adeolu Adewumi, who was present during the service said, “We didn’t see it coming. We were all surprised when the brother knelt in front of her immediately after the grace was said. She was also surprised and as a result, became teary. It was an emotional sight for us too.”
“The moment the brother asked if she would marry her, some people started shouting that she should say yes, while they also picked up their phones to snap and make videos. As she finally said yes, members trooped out to congratulate her,” she added.
