“God at work” says Esther Ajayi as LOC escapes demolition for Lagos-Calabar Highway
The ultra-modern Love of Christ Generation Church (LOC) C & S located at Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos belonging to Reverend Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi, has been spared in the ongoing demolition by the Federal Government to pave way for the N15 trillion Lagos-Calabar Super Highway.
Minister of Works, David Umahi, recently flagged off the demolition of structures on the government’s right of way for the construction.
However, Landmark Africa, a resort centre beside LOC was not that lucky, it was partly demolished on Tuesday.
Confirming the development, the renowned philanthropist told Apostle Muyiwa Adeyemi of All Seraphs that her church was not affected by the ongoing construction work.
She said, “We give glory to God that we are not affected. Though at the point of acquiring the land, our lawyer had hinted us of the proposed coastal highway and we did everything not to encroach the designated area. But we thank God that the government did not go beyond where it has been marked for the project. We thank everybody for their concerns. It is God at work.”
With this confirmation, the Prophetess popularly known as Iya Adura has allayed the fears of many who have been calling and expressing concerns to know if the church building was affected or not.
Lamenting the destruction of the resort centre, the management of the Landmark Africa in their social handle said: “What a journey! What we built in 6 years was destroyed in 6 hours.”
The 700km coastal highway, the first of its kind in Africa, will link Lagos to Calabar and pass through about 9 states.
