“How Women Have Enhanced The Growth Of C&S Church”

Seraph Bridget Mustapha

Female Seraphs have been commended for their remarkable contributions in sustaining the growth of the Cherubim and Seraphim church.

It will be recalled that the annual International Women’s Day was celebrated across the world on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.

In a chat with Acts of Seraphs, the Legal Adviser 1 of C&S Unification and a member of C&S Ona Iwa Mimo, Prophetess Adeola Adelaja, said women in the church are doing well portraying the glory of Moses Orimolade positively.

She said, “Women have done a lot to enhance the growth of the Church. I cannot forget the role of my late General Overseer, Her Eminence Queen Captain ( Dr) Maria Ogunyooye popularly known as Iya Ojota. Even while she was not learned, she encouraged the youths wherever she could, but most importantly abolished so many of the otherwise established rituals which were part of our worship.

“One name also resonates, Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi. Though, I have not met her, I acknowledge the way she has ensured respect is accorded the Church in hitherto unreachable quarters. I appreciate her lack of shame in putting on the white garment wherever she goes.

“I must quickly add that there are other women in the fold whom I may not be aware of but are also doing their bit. On the whole looking at the fold we have so many women who are leaders of their churches and are doing well portraying the glory of Moses Orimolade positively.”

On her assessment of female Seraphs in the area of career, Prophetess Adeola, who was recently appointed as Judge of the High Court in Ogun State, said women in the church were really moving and doing well in every field hitherto reserved for men.

“There is a marked improvement but we need to work more on our youth. We should discourage our girls from giving birth outside wedlock, encourage education and let them see the benefits of being independent to a large extent,” she added.

Prophetess Opeyemi Bello of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Chapel of Revelation, said women have contributed in no small measure to the growth of the prophetic ministry of the church.

She said the women have been supportive of their male counterparts in the ministry by building the spiritual capacity of members in the fold.

She said, “The prophetic ministry is one of the major pillars of the C&S church. When we talk of the roles of the church in the Christendom, the ministry has distinguished the C&S church. The growth is not without the contributions of the women. We have a good number of female prophets who have brought pride to the church through this ministry even before the era of the internet. There are records to prove this.

“They did not see the gift of prophecy as what it is, they also saw the need to imbibe the virtues of Jesus Christ. They have also been able to put this to use as they function effectively in different arms of the church. The women have also played significant roles in building the spiritual lives of members who are endowed with diverse of spiritual gifts. They also ensure this is sustained from one generation to another,” she added.

Snr. Mother-In-Israel Grace Adeyemi of the Eternal Sacred Order, Irawo Owuro C&S, said the contributions of women in the area of evangelism have improved impressively in the last few years, adding that more women are spiritually inducted into preachers and have been doing well to evangelize.

She also noted that the roles of women in the sustainable development of the fold cannot be underrated, as they have been seen to be acting in their full capacities in many areas.

“During the general Church evangelism, we see women dancing, singing, and joining in the sharing of the word and flyers actively. And in coming years, there are strong indices of more vibrant female contributions in area of evangelism. Apart from conventional roles, you will observe now that some women in C & S are forming Foundations and NGOs to reach out to the vulnerable, children and empowering youths and girls.

“You all know about Esther Ajayi Foundation, it is evangelizing beyond C & S, so also Amazing Grace Children Rights Foundation, which we started about two years ago. The NGO has reached motherless babies’ homes, schools and rural communities and through it some became C & S members.

“Our ‘Be Bold’ program, which holds on May 27 every year, (Children Day) where we educate teenagers to have confidence in themselves, to speak up when there is need to defend themselves, especially against sexual abuse or molestation. These are new things in C & S and we have many women working in this direction with their resources and support from C & S members.”
