Special Apostle John Adeyinka Aina is the Minister-in-Charge of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church in Jalingo, Taraba state. In an interview with Seraph Adedoyin Johnson, he speaks on his capacity as the leader of a church and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Can we meet you sir?
My name is Special Apostle John Adedoyin Aina, I am from oke onigbin in isin local government of Kwara State, a retired superintendent, Nigeria Immigration Service. I am the church leader of CSMC Number 1, Jalingo, and by His grace the current vice chairman of CAN in Taraba State.
After retiring from active service, why did you dedicate your life, time, resources to serving God?
I retired from Nigeria immigration service in 2007. I retired but not tired to commit my time, energy and resources to serve God. I have always been joining hands with like minds to contribute my quota in uplifting the gospel in whatever way I could even while I was in service.
Leadership of CAN and being church leader, how do you combine both?
Combining CAN leadership with church leadership is tasking but I thank God for His sufficient grace upon my life, the good health and the wisdom he has given me to face challenges.
Are there challenges you are faced with in CAN because of the church you worship?
Honestly, no challenges or discrimination in performing my duties in CAN because of my denomination. We see ourselves especially in CAN executive as brothers from different mothers but one father and we carry ourselves along as we all believe in the unity of the church.
After acting as CAN chairman why did you relinquish the position?
I acted as CAN chairman for seven months after the demise of the chairman late Rev (Dr) Ben Ubeh who died in a ghastly motor accident on 25th March, 2018. It was agreed that we should allow PFN/CPFN bloc to finish their tenure of leadership that remained few months. This gave way to Rev. (Dr) Innocent Solomon approval and subsequent inauguration as CAN chairman through electoral college supervised by the state CAN exco on 26th October, 2018
What should we expect in the new year as to how to propagate God’s kingdom and present the CSMC church in a good light through out the world?
We thank God for bringing us into the new year. We should rede dictate ourselves to serve God better the the previous years and from my own end I want to see the name Cherubim and Seraphim movement flourish home and abroad.
