On Friday 12, 2023, a sundog appeared in the sky during the 54th ascension of Mount Horeb at the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Galilee land. This was captured in a series of video clips that were circulated on social media. The General Secretary of CSMC International Council of Prophets, Sp. Apo. Prophet Abiodun Ogunsakin in this interview with ACTS OF SERAPHS speaks on the development. Excerpts.
A sundog is known to be a natural occurrence. What makes this particular one different?
What makes it so special to us is that it was foretold. Ordinarily, people would say it was a cause of nature and that it was not the first time such would appear in the sky. But what makes the difference was that God had told us he would reveal himself in our midst. The sundog may have appeared without anyone reading any meaning to it, but because God said by tomorrow, I will give you a sign by 12 pm. He said just lift your head up and you will see it and I will show you how great I am.
When exactly was this revealed?
It was revealed during a revival programme held the previous day. Someone went into trance and the Lord said He would show us a sign by 12 pm on Friday.
Were there expectations afterwards?
In the C&S church, when a vision is given, especially when it is said that It would happen at a particular time, everybody will be expecting the outcome. And when it eventually comes to pass, that is when people will believe that God is here.
So how did people react to the sign?
Shortly after it appeared, those who were present at the revival were the ones calling people’s attention to it that this is what God said during the revival. And as you can see in the video clips in circulation, the sign motivated people to pray like never before. For them to have seen real-life signs and wonders and show that God is indeed here. You know when you discover that God is here, the level at which you pray will be different from how you used to.
What can you say about its significance ?
What happened that day was a sign of positive change. When Jesus Christ was born, there was a star that revealed itself to the whole world that a new King was born. That kind of sign symbolises the beginning of a new thing, a sign of a new government. If you do research, you will discover that when a sundog appears, things of such nature happen. So, the change may be to the Council of Prophets, it may be to C&S Movement, as well as the C&S church as a whole. It may also be to Nigeria, but it is a sign of positive change.
How does this speak to the essence of the annual ascension programme?
It is simply a revalidation of our gathering as the mouthpiece of God. And you know what makes a prophet and prophetess of God is to receive a message from God, give the message and it comes to pass. That is what makes all the difference. That kind of thing is not what anyone can control or manipulate. So it cannot be said that it was staged-managed. The Lord said it and people see it come to pass. And ultimately, what happened was nothing compared to the fact that God said He would do it and it indeed came to pass.
Does it also revalidate the fact that the C&S is a spiritual church?
Of course, it does. It promotes the C&S church in so many ways because the church itself is known for where the raw manifestation of the power of God abounds, including its peculiarities when it comes to seeing visions. It was during the same revival that the Lord told us that He won’t allow rain to disturb us throughout the programme. It was when everybody had left that the rain started around 10pm on Sunday. So those are the things to really prove that God is with us.
What are your final words regarding this development?
You will recall I said that people started to call the attention of one another when the sign appeared. So it means when a prophet is doing something good, people will call the attention of others, if the prophet also does bad, people will call the attention of others to it.
