Korode, Funmi Arojah, Others Set For 4th Anathema Talk Show
The Glory of God Cherubim and Seraphim Church, GOGCS, is set to host another edition of The Anathema Talk Show which is scheduled to hold on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
The talk show hosts Seraphs to an engaging panel discussion where topical issues bordering on the growth and development of the C & S Church are examined.
It also comes up on the sideline of the church’s annual anniversary thanksgiving service which will hold on Sunday, June 11, with the theme, “The Unity of the Church.”
The guest speakers expected to be part of this year’s edition include, Apostle Shola Adebayo, Bro Femi Korode, Lady Prophet Funmi Arojah-Owolabi and Bro Benjy Franklin.
The convener, Pastor Sam Ogunyooye, said the theme which reflects on the vital aspect of the Christian faith would be made the subject of discussion.
He said, “As followers of Christ, we are called to be one body, united in purpose, love, and fellowship. It is through our unity that we can demonstrate the transformative power of the Gospel and fulfill our mission to be the salt and light in the world.
“It is on this note and through God’s divine inspiration that we were able to come up with the theme – The Unity of The Church which reflects on the vital aspect of our faith. This will also be the focus of our discussion during the talk-show.”
Ogunyooye, who is also the presiding pastor of GOGCS disclosed that the guest speakers were selected to reflect the essence of the theme.
“The speakers have been selected from different sub-denominations and these include Sacred C&S, C&S Movement Church, ESOCS and Agbojesu Conference. They will touch on every aspect of the theme. The combination is also a deliberate move to practically communicate the need for us to try all we can to preserve the unity of this body of Christ,” he said.
Unlike the previous editions, the talk show will be conducted via a podcast this year while the visuals will be made available online afterwards.
Given the resolutions and recommendations that were highlighted during the past editions, Ogunyooye produced a documentary film titled, “Anathema- The White Garment Experience” from the stable of Cheser Media Inc.
Premiered on Friday, November 11, 2022, at the Irving Arts Center, Texas, the United States of America, the documentary explored the church, its inception and its journey so far.
The project, through an artistic medium, also documented the growth and challenges of the Aladura churches through contributions from members and non-members, who share their personal experiences, views and stigmatization.
Its first soundtrack, titled: “Egbe Kerubu tiye” was released in June, 2022, while it featured Seraph gospel acts, Dare Fashola; Israel Classic; ID Olohun Iyo and ID Tones.
The docudrama which was shot both in Nigeria and the US, also featured notable members of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, as well as the Celestial Church of Christ, including renowned personalities in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
