The Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria Friday says the leadership of the fold is making consultations with regards to the ongoing hijab crisis in Kwara state.
The church revealed that its position on the development would be made known anytime soon.
Christians in the state had called for a reversal of the state government’s declaration to allow hijab in Christian Mission schools.
Acts of Seraphs reported that some Muslim students were turned back after they allegedly wore hijab to one of the mission schools in violation of the existing dress code.
What resulted in a brickbat between Christian and Muslim groups in the state soon snowballed into a full blown religious crisis, as some of the grant aided schools recently came under attack.
This was after the pronouncement of state government was met with a resistance from the affected schools.
Also making the rounds is a viral video where some youths could be seen hurling stones at a group of intercessors who were praying at the premises of C&S college.
While speaking with Acts of Seraphs upon enquiry, the Chief Public Relations officer of the church, Superintendent Apostle Muyiwa Adeyemi says the church is in talks with relevant bodies in the state, and as such making consultations across board.
“We are currently making consultations on the matter. And we will make our position known as soon as possible. The church has also engaged the leadership of the church in the state to get a brief of the development,” he said.
Meanwhile, some Muslim clerics have condemned the forceful imposition of hijab on the mission schools. In some videos seen by this platform, the clerics maintained that the schools should be allowed to decide on what best suits them without any form of interference.
Acts of Seraphs understands that Kwara state government had drafted security operatives accross the schools to enforce its directives.
