Seraph Dayo Oyewo
Security officials of the Youth Fellowship of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, were the cynosure of all eyes during the first monthly vigil in the year held recently at C&S Oke-Iye, Ebutte Meta, as they were seen donning red jackets.
The jacket which has an emblem at the back bearing an inscription “Lions of Seraph Squad” with an image of a lion on it would conspicuously present them as EFCC officials at first sight.
But it was soon discovered, by those taken unawares, to be the new outfit of the department.
There is no gainsaying the fact, also, that the outfit would easily announce their presence at any gathering if its colour is anything to go by.
Confirming Lions Of Seraphs Squad as their newly adopted name, the leader of the group, Bro. Ife Donatus, said the new name, as well as the outfit, became necessary as part of efforts to awaken the consciousness of the security officials to the task up their sleeves.
Donatus’ submission, perhaps, was evident in their discharge of duties throughout the period the vigil spanned.
The department is known to be very active during vigils and other special programmes, just as it also played a crucial role at the Mega Praise Concert held at the national stadium in Lagos a couple of weeks back.
This, however, is not unconnected to a certain level of reformation the department has undergone recently under the watch of Donatus who is reputed as one of the highly ranked security experts in the country.
