One of our hymns says “Awa ni imole aye, lati le okunkun lo, ilu ta te sori oke, a ko le farasin; awa si ni iyo aye ti a o mu aye dun…”. The English version; “Jesus proclaimeth that we are the light of the world to cast all darkness away; the city built on the top of Hill can never hide from vision, God has made us salt of the earth to greatly sweeten the earth…”.

Through the course of the years; 1925 till date, the C&S fold has produced icons in notable fields, showing the pathway to life; Jesus Christ, in their different capacities, ministries and calling.

Seraph Adeyemi Matthew is one of such kinds who has shunned the scorn and derision of the world to prove he is not ashamed of the gospel of Christ nor of the fold.

During his undergraduate days, in C&S Unification Fellowship, AAUA chapter, Seraph Matthew donned his white garment to school to a lecture fixed on a Sunday afternoon. As expected, the whole class was in uproar about the act, as they exclaimed, “Ha!, aso adura!!!”.

Being an active member of the C&S fold, he was part of the organizing committee in C&S Unification Fellowship, Akungba Chapter, that hosted the Unification Convention, Favour 2007. The convention that saw all Unification Campus fellowship members in Ikare Akoko.

As it is written that the gift of a man will make him stand before great men;Seraph Matthew being a drummer with the sobriquet “Ayanmatto” has ministered with his talking drum in the C&S fold, other denominations and at events. He even ministered at the NYSC Camp at Keffi, Nasarawa at the MTN dinner night in 2010. What a compelling profile!

Seraph Matthew aside being a shining light in the fold is also in good accordance with other denominations. According to him, “I have been to different denominations and I have never had the feeling of being inferior to them”. Aside from being knowledgeable in his field, he also humbled himself and learn from them “I picked from the good things and the programme they do but not condemning mine, but to bring in new innovation and make corrections” he stated.

The lover of blue colour, aside from being a drummer, also works as a sales executive in a company. His favourite hymn is Hymn 126; Olorun ailopin Iwo, while his favourite scripture is Psalms 121.
