Meet Seraph Gospel Sensation, Dayo Dauda; Alias Adedayo Sekere

The Scriptures in Proverbs 18:16 says a man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men. It likewise bears record in Luke 16:10 that he that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much and will also have much committed unto him.

We can’t say less of that about Seraph Dayo Dauda, popularly known as Adedayo Sekere. When you hear the sonorous voice of one blasting over the microphone, lifting men’s souls, and driving men towards repentance, you can be sure it’s the voice of Adedayo Sekere.

She didn’t just start hitting the microphone at adulthood, no, she started at a very tender age in primary school, “I have been singing since I was in primary school where I was the chapel prefect”, then she discovered she has a burning passion for it during her secondary education “But then it became an important part of me since secondary school, JSS 1 to be precise”, revealed Seraph Dayo.

In actual fact, parents and caregivers have a lot to do in the life of every child, identifying the soft and tender skill/talent our wards possess, encouraging them on it and providing a favourable environment to groom them.

Her social media presence where she makes use of the melody lab app to dish out hymnals in about four different kind of tones has earned her a sizeable number of followers and, as such, made her a toast of lovers of C&S hymnals.

It is not a surprise Seraph Dayo is blessed with gift and is gainfully making use of it, probably because she had a seraphic birth; she was given birth to in the fold. “Oh so many to start with musically, I started growing from the church even though some people said I don’t sound cherubim and with that to the glory of God I am proud to say I am outstanding being a Seraph. Physically, I have been able to influence people positively with my beautiful C&S looks”.

“Oh spiritually is countless starting from our beautiful hymns that gives joy to soul, great doctrines and teachings that puts me back on track, our worships that nourishes the soul and the way the Word of God is dished out has been the easiest consumable food that can never be compared to another”, stated Dayo Sekere. Truly, she’s a beauty to behold physically and spiritually.

Giving her piece of encouragement to members of the fold, the November born Seraph urged the fold to continue to stand in harmony, because being a Seraph has turned out a blessing for her. Though, she attends services at other churches, but she can’t contest being a Seraph.

The graduate of Tasued (Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun) from the department of Creative Arts was undisputedly active during her undergraduate days in the university, she was a one- time choir coordinator in her fellowship.

She is an active member of Ona Iwa Mimo, Oke Ayo and also ministers at other churches, denominations and social functions. Her stage name is ‘Adedayo Sekere’, which the latter part was given her last year by Mr. Yemi Sonde, the popular radio presenter at Faaji Fm during one of his programs.

On managing the image of the fold, Seraph Dayo affirmed she does not need to announce to people that she’s a Seraph, but her acts and attitude would naturally speak volumes of who she is.

“Well Seeing is believing, I won’t tell you what I am when I am sure you won’t believe me, so I will rather wait until you are convinced personally with evidence and then it’s left to me to prove to you that I am not gray, not black, but a pure white”, she said.

Rating the change in the fold, she expressed joy and confidence that the fold is making rounds positively in all stratum and also encourages members to be one and be moderate in dressing, “we are working and doing well on every part but then I would want us to put in more effort to becoming united and our uniforms too that part needs a lot of consideration and moderation. Some C&S garments are just unbelievable but I pray God helps us”, she pointed out.

Aside being a minister in songs, Seraph Dayo is also a minister in business; she runs a drink store and is also into fashion. Amidst her tight schedule, she still sews garments for people abroad and get it delivered. Her social media handle is @Fa_clothing. What a resourceful Seraph!

The last child of the family’s colour is white and gold which is broadly evident in her pictures. Her turn on/off is sincerity and creativity/ lies. Her favourite Bible verse is Revelations 1:6, while her mum is her role model. But as spiritual as she is, Seraph Dayo isn’t spiritual when it comes to our local food; eba, she does justice to it with any delicious soup.

To cap it all, as the Parable of the talents noted that two individuals were faithful with their talents and received the reward accordingly, can we say Seraph Dayo has been a faithful servant? Yes! and more and will by His Grace have the reward of being a faithful servant.
