MIGHTY ON HIS THRONE: A Quick Ride

MIGHTY ON HIS THRONE: A Quick Ride

Scattered through the scriptures, we understand that our significance as humans and the most wonderful of God’s creation lies in how much we acknowledge and discover the counsels and purposes of our Heavenly Father, and most importantly, how we yield ourselves to him as available vessels in fulfilling these purposes.

The musical album: Mighty on His Throne, is an attempt at fulfilling one of the purposes of the Father as revealed in the book of Habakkuk 2 vs 14, about the last days being filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. Being chosen by grace as music ministers of the new covenant in this dispensation, we have been able to perceive the still and refreshing voice of the Spirit whispering these fascinating melodies into our ears. Therefore, it was necessary to release these sounds unto the earth, stirring up the nations to acknowledging the providence and sovereignty of the Most High.

‘Mighty on His Throne’ features 5 different exciting tracks, with ÌBÀ (Homage), being the first in the series. Through ÌBÀ (Homage), the Spirit seeks to bring to the consciousness of the nations, the need to pay homage to the King of kings in an exciting duet that features Fèrèfólú and Adéọlá, leading us to the throne to ‘júbà’. Next in the series is Ìwọ l’ọba (You are the King). Here, Fembat and a group of harmonious singers, further describe how we have searched all over and couldn’t find any other to be compared with our King. He really is the King of kings.

This is immediately followed by B’ọ́ tí ń ṣe lọ́run (As it is in Heaven). Preceded by a great piece of adoration and a short poetic introduction, Mohtohlah, having received a sound from the Throne, revealing how the will of the Father is done on High in worship, he seeks to expose us to this art so that our hearts of worship may be in line with the Father’s will.  The fourth in this series is Ọba tí kò yí padà (The King that never changes). Being a witness to the unchanging nature of our God, as opposed to the unpredictable character of men, Adéọlá shares her testimony in what happens to be a fascinating piece of melody, further revealing that The Lord is indeed mighty on His Throne.

The album finally ends with a great piece of classical music. The initial four, being various modalities of contemporary music, it was important to reveal that in declaring how mighty our God is on His Throne, we are not limited to a particular style or genre of music. This classical piece is named Ọlọ́run tó ńgbórí ìtẹ́ (The God who inhabits the Throne). Filled with lots of glorious harmonies, with an amazing transition point towards the end, the album comes to a conclusion with this great piece in an attempt to further strengthen our convictions about Him who resides mightily on the Throne.

It has indeed been a mind-blowing adventure into what happens to be a glorious attempt at fulfilling the mandate of the Father in these last days. I am sure these Spirit-inspired melodies would go a long way in stirring up the hearts of the nations to worship the Father in spirit and in truth because this is exactly what He desires!
