Seraph Kofoworola Balogun is the convener of Miss and Mrs Virtues; an interdenominational platform that comprises single and married ladies. The platform, otherwise known as MMV is currently holding its annual summit with the theme: “The Emergence of Women: A Vast Army.” The programme which started last Sunday, September 26, will round off tomorrow, Oct 1. The convener in this brief interview with Acts of Seraphs opens up on the vision of the platform, as well as the impact made so far. Excerpts.
What is MMV is all about?
Miss and Mrs Virtues, MMV, is a platform on a mission to reconcile the female gender with God’s original purpose of creation and existence across all sects of life and to build Virtuous ladies both singles and married (hence the name Miss and Mrs) to possess inner and aesthetic beauty to the glory of God in this generation and the next. It’s a progressive Vision. Our vision focuses on nurturing ladies into being glamorously and uniquely balanced in beauty and character. To become Godly paradigms and suitable destiny helpers leaving positive landmarks in the sand of time for the next generation. MMV also have a mandate to start an outreach for female teenagers called: TEENAGE PREGNANCY OUTREACH (Educate the yet-to-fall, support the fallen to-rise-again) It’s a movement to create more awareness in putting a stop to teenage pregnancy amidst teenagers, to reduce the increase, educate the parents and guardians the best ways to handle the victims and say NO to the victim’s rejection. All they need is redirection, not rejection.
When was it established, and what edition is the ongoing summit?
It was established officially in the year 2016, and we had our first Summit in the year 2017. This edition makes it the 6th one. We started on Sunday, September 26, and the grand finale will hold on Friday, October 1, at Ninth Hour Emeaky Church, 1 Asenuga street, Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos.
Can you brief us on the impact of the platform so far?
MMV is a platform in which we focus more on the essence of living, our Identity as women, how to find our places in purpose and start fulfilling it. By the grace of God, many of our members have found clarity to their purpose and on their life’s journey to fulfill God’s assignment in their various spheres of influence. Many of the singles can boldly do relationships in God’s way and marriages that are on verge of shattering are back to the glory of God. Above all, we pride, through the help of the Holy Spirit in developing over 200 women in Godly characters, spirituality, their essence, careers, businesses, marital relationship, and their growth is evident that many people around them can see the great work God is doing through their lives. So far so good on Teenage Pregnancy Outreach (TPO), the outreach started in the year 2018 and for now, our vision is to see to the welfare of one pregnant teenager per year in every way. In these 2 years, we have successfully seen to the welfare of two pregnant teenagers and helped to redirect their lives to their primary focus. One has gone back to school, she’s in her final year and doing excellently well in her academics, while the other went back to her tailoring apprenticeship where she graduated last year and is presently in her own place. Both of them are doing well in God and their endeavours.
What inspired the theme of this year’s summit?
For many decades I have read about and watched my gender being tossed around like a feather without worth by the Enemy. Dryness and ignorance have covered the heart of many, they are dry and dead to the knowledge of who they are; I mean their Identity as orchestrated by God. I saw how many are cheated by the devil to lose their identity and their place in God’s agenda. I saw how many of them buried great purpose, potential, skills, and talents because the men in their lives were too egocentric to fan their wings. I saw how the voice of older generation of women were silenced and many of them had to crawl into their hole because society brainwashed them that a woman with a voice cannot keep the home front. Many were forced to give up their voice out of fear of what society will say, and they lost their Identity in God forever. I have seen how many of them dish out archaic advice borne out of toxic and bittered mentality, just because of what they went through in the past. Then, I see in the spirit that women are wallowing in the valley of very dry bones, darkness and ignorance have covered the heart of many, they are dead and dried to the knowledge of who they are. So this inspired the theme, as I resolved that it’s time for the awakening of their Spirit Man so that they can emerge as a vast army standing for the truth for global influence. Ezekiel 37:1-14
What do you hope to have achieved at the end of the summit?
There’s a shift in the Spirit, the signs are already here, we can see the manifestations. As the bones will be coming to bones, flesh covering the bones, the Breath of the Almighty will come upon us. Then there will be the rising of the very great force, women who are ready for war, a war to enforce the Will of God in all spheres of life He has placed us. Soldiers who are ready and open to the moves of the Spirit as we emerge as voices that cannot be silenced, Women who understand that their life does not only center around marriage and motherhood, women who will make a difference in every area of life and their formation is to take their place in the agenda of God. Women who aren’t afraid to scale heights in their area of God’s Purpose, Women whose wings are beautifully fanned by the Godly men in their lives, Women who have the wisdom to balance the home, career, and ministry. Finally, I see God reviving Women of this generation to the understanding of their true Identity, responsibility, standing at their posts as an army for positive influence in every sect of life. I see the beginning of a new dawn, the awakening of rare breeds, it’s closer than ever, their emergence will shake nations and birth the fulfillment of God’s will. The breath of the Almighty shall accomplish this.
Is the platform open to people willing to join, and is there any criteria?
Of course, it is open to those who are willing to join. The only criteria are that the members should be teachable with open hearts willing to learn, unlearn and relearn.
