The newly elected executives of Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, Lagos State chapter were, last Saturday, inducted to steer the ship of the chapter for the next three years.
The programme was well attended by prominent members of the church and the leadership at the National, state and local government levels of the church.
Relatives of the inductees, including well-wishers also sauntered into the imposing cathedral of the Holy Church of C&S Mount Sinai, at Adekunle area of Ebute Meta, to witness the epoch-making event.
Recall that the chapter’s Executives were elected in December 2021, during an election conducted by the National Executive Council of C&S Unification Church of Nigeria in conjunction with a five-man electoral committee led by Gen. Sunday Omopariola, a former National Commandant of the Army of Salvation Band.
The ceremony, which started at exactly 10:00 am, progressed with a short prayer at the entrance of the auditorium up until the scriptural reading by the legal adviser of the chapter, M/I/I / Prophetess Barr. (Dr.) Mololuwa Adebiyi J.Pil. This was followed by a three persons’ prayers and recognition of dignitaries and announcement by the General Secretary of the chapter, Apostle Caleb Akinpelu.
The induction proper, which formally heralded a new dispensation in the state chapter, started with a procession of the new Executives and the inductees who were led into the auditorium by Assistant Secretary I of the National Executive Council, Apostle Tayo Ajose.
The oath-taking, which followed soon afterwards, was supervised by the NEC chairman, His Eminence E.O. Owomoyela, and the Secretary-General Supt. Apo. Dr. Tunde Ogunkunle.
The process rounded off with a prophetic declaration on all inductees one after the other by Special Apostle (Dr) O.O Showande, the proxy of the spiritual head of C&S Movement Church, in the Ecclesiastical Council of the Unification.
In a speech which followed immediately after the induction, the new chairman, Special Apostle Segun Adio declared that his tenure would build on the achievements of his predecessors, as well as upholding the goals and ideals of the National body by unifying the church, and admit more members willing to join the Unification body from all parts of the state.
He said his administration would not allow any agent(s) of destabilisation to creep into the ranks of the state chapter to the detriment of the growth of the Church.
Apostle Adio assured that his administration would work to strengthen the existing wings of the chapter and also set up a body to review the chapter’s Rules and Regulations to be able to meet present-day realities.
While craving the prayers of all members for a successful tenure, the new helmsman, said he would guide and guard jealously the opportunity that posterity had entrusted in his hands and those of his team.
To the admiration of the members of the chapter and everyone present at the event, the newly-inducted chairman announced the launch of a Cooperative Society tagged ‘Lagos Chapter Unification Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd’, saying, it will further complement the financial drive of Seraphs in the state when fully utilised.
According to him, the Cooperative Society has been duly registered with the Lagos State Government and would be managed by competent and reliable Seraphs who are specialists in the field.
Noting that more laudable scheme would be unveiled by the chapter in the coming months, Apostle Adio said the scheme would highly enhance, boost and reshape the participation of members in their various churches.
Meanwhile, the spiritual head of the Progressive International C&S Church, His Grace Most Rev (Dr) S. A. O. Adeoye, in his sermon, charged the new Executive to be guided by the Word of God, prayer and the Holy Spirit in the discharge of their duties.
The clergyman who anchored his message on Gen 15 vs 1, also admonished members of the state chapter to give maximum support to the new executives.
