Late C & S Supreme Head’s Wife, Mother Seraph Ogunkunle Joins The Saints Triumphant
The Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim Church has announced the passing of Mother Seraph Esther Abike Ogunkunle, the wife of late Baba Aladura Amos Afolabi Ogunkunle.
Baba Aladura Ogunkunle was a former Spiritual Head of the church and the Supreme Head of the C & S Unification Church of Nigeria, who succeeded the late Queen Captain Abiodun Emmanuel.
In a statement issued by the church secretariat, the matriarch passed on to glory on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the age of 98 years.
The statement read, “With gratitude to Almighty God, on behalf of The Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim. I wish to announce the glorious transition of the mother of our Church to her creator yesterday 15/05/2024.
“Mother Seraph Esther Abike OGUNKUNLE J.p. left this sinful world at a ripe age of 98 years. May the good Lord give the Church and families the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.”
The statement added that the Conference Board would keep the public informed after the family’s position on the burial arrangements.
Speaking to Acts of Seraphs, the late clergywoman’s son, Elder Olarinde Ogunkunle, described her as a devout Christian mother who consistently pushed him to uphold morality.
The pioneer chairman of C&S Unification Youth Fellowship said, “I am what I am all because of her efforts. She was always on my neck to do the right thing. She is a Christian mother and she believed so much in C & S doctrine. Once she has a little headache, she wants to use prayer water to make it go. She is the type that believes in spirituality. She was so committed to my education that she cried the day I repeated class, wishing she could have taught me herself if she had been educated. So I promised to make her proud and, ultimately, I excelled. That was the turning point in my life.”
He added that his late mother was submissive and supportive in her marital home.
“Anything my father says is the final and she does not argue it. She was very supportive, even when we sometimes grumbled at our dad for attention, she would let us realize that we were not his only children and that due to his position as a spiritual head, he catered for others too,” he added.
We pray Mama’s gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
