The Daniel Band of Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Yola District, recently organised a seminar with the theme: “Effective Minister Beyond Gift”.
The seminar held at Cherubim SMC Bethel Cathedral Numan in Adamawa State on the 25th January, 2019 with the presence of members from CSMC 2 jalingo, CSMC Numan, CSMC 1 jalingo, CSMC Yola Sub Headquarters and dignitaries present included Yola District Chairman Professor Prophet A.C. Odinma, District Supervising Prophet Adekunle among others.
The Guest speaker Prophet David Oyegbemi picked his text from 2nd Corinthians 5:20 and said being called into the ministry comes with certain abilities to be effective. He added that gift is merely performance while ministry is the expression of what we are, as he quoted from numbers 22:26-30 and 2Chorintians 5:20 respectively.
Prophet David further buttressed the topic by dishing out the principles that strengthen minister’s effectiveness which includes:
-the willingness to suffer all things for the church John 13:16
-Be a servant of the church. Mark 10:45
-Be a faithful steward of His word. 1cor 4:1-2
-Aim at presenting everyone mature in Christ. Eph 4:11-14
-Strive to work hard 1cor 15:110
-Depend on God’s power John 15:4-5.
He conclusively said God will not force Himself on anyone. He will not come where He is not wanted even if it is His dwelling place and you are His servant. Hence He says (Rev 3:20).
To be an effective minister, your life need to practically translate the scripture in your milieu. Don’t describe the scripture alone become it and live it.
