C&S Gospel Artistes Speak On Expectations, As Mega Praise Mini Concert Inches Close

The much anticipated mega praise mini concert is just a couple of hours away. The concert which is scheduled to hold Sunday, Nov 10 at Seraphim Land, km 40 Lagos-Ibadan  expressway, Maba, Ogun state, will parade some of the brightest gospel sensation in the Cherubim and Seraphim fold. Being a prequel to the Mega Praise concert slated for December 21, as convened by renowned evangelist and philanthropist, Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi, the mini concert will witness no fewer than 40 participants with a sizeable number of audience in attendance. The gospel artistes who were carefully selected across board will, however, have their numbers pruned down to six by a panel of judges who will, through a diligent evaluation of their performances, announce the best of them. The six winners would later feature at the Mega Praise Concert which enters its second year. Meanwhile, two winners will eventually emerge out of the selected six. The two winners will be given all the supports needed to become the best gospel artistes in the country. Thousands of their CDs will equally be produced, just as they will be introduced to leaders of the industry and other ministries, coupled with chances to getting record deals. In a random interview conducted by Acts of Seraphs, some of the artistes bare their minds on the development, as well as their expectations and the possibility of being among the chosen six. Excerpts..

OGUNDARE OLAYINKA DAVIDS (YK DAVIDS)

Apparently, it is organized to encourage and give equal chance to many gospel artistes in the cherubim and seraphim fold. For that among numerous other laudable projects, Big Thanks to our God sent mother Rev. Mother Abimbola Ajayi. I struggle to find the most appropriate words to commend her. God will continue to bless her in Jesus name. In as much as I know that the organisers are trying to be fair to all artistes, I feel the number is on the high side for several factors. Apparently, there would be consequences. But you know, Mega praise is just two years, with time I’m sure many things will be set right. God will lead the way.

My expectations on selection of few.

Kudos to the organisers. I understand what would have transpired before reaching their conclusions. Six isn’t bad…it is great. But six out of over 40? It could have been 6 out of 20. Well, I’m sure the participants are preparing because I expect everyone to give their very best and I expect the best and the graced 6 to be picked. Except something unexpected happens and the number grows to 10…Lol

Myself as part of the selected few.

First and foremost, I see this as no competition but as an opportunity to do what I’m obliged to do as a true seraph and someone who takes pleasure and joy in praising God always (according to Psalm 34 verse 1 and Psalm 145 verse 1) and putting smiles and joy on people’s faces through complete praises. I’m very optimistic and positive. I see myself at the very top by God’s grace.

ALO OLUSEGUN

The idea is meaningful one in order to select requested numbers from the provided numbers to be featured. My expectation is to wish us the few selected good luck, and I believe the efforts of others that are not selected would never go in vain because being part of the people to perform at the mini praise concert is a big grace and wonderful deeds from God. Yes, exactly by God grace, I see my self as number one of the few that would be picked.

NUEL ADEYEYE

Firstly, I must say the idea is a great one, because C&S is now understanding and seeing the need to embrace its own resources and as well give helping hands. It could eventually be an annual program if it’s God’s wish.

Basically I don’t see this as competition, rather a ground for more gospel artistes in our fold to be unveiled!

Hence even those who would still not be picked can all come up with something greater on 1 stage and not having it limited there only.

Honestly I would go Miles and lengths to bless lives via God’s inspiration, either being picked or not. And I believe whatever the outcome is, would definitely be as a result of what God has orchestrated.

INUMIDUN AINA PEARL

I have always looked forward to something like this in the C/S fold and I am so glad to be part of it. As far as I am concerned, I have a conviction that we are remembered.

Of course, not all of us would mount the stage for mega praise concert ,especially for time frame, but I would plead to the organizers to please do something like this again next year, so it would go round.

Smiles, Yes I have a strong conviction about being part of the selected six, and very optimistic about success. God is not dead.

ADEDAYO SEKERE

I think the mini concert is a good Idea. And as regards my expectation as only a selected few will be picked to feature at the mega praise, I expect nothing less than grace.

On seeing myself as being part of the few to be selected, I only hope the best and deserving people be picked.

PRINCE TUNDE ONIJOBA

Well, I trust God in this program and it gives room for upcoming artistes to express their calling by God to audience. I’m happy being part of this great vision. I pray that this vision will not perish in Jesus name. I trust God in me that he will have his way in Jesus name.

BABATUNDE ADELEKE (APALA JESU)

The initiative is a very good one. No one is an island of knowledge and no one is perfect. Truly, we are gospel artistes but this type of concert will help everyone of us to be more prepared and not until when we are invited to minister, or maybe because of the gratification attached. We should also have it in mind that it is our time to transform from being upcoming to international gospel artistes.

Many are called but few are chosen. We are all good and okay, but we all can’t be experts because we can’t see our mistakes by ourselves. Besides, two persons can’t emerge winner in a race so this will make everyone of us to be more prepared better. Only the judges will know better where we need to work more for us to become more professional in this field.

With God all things are possible. We believe in him and in the gift he gave us. We believe we are going to be part of the selected few and even 1st position by His grace.

SHINA HARMONY

Well, a mini concert is not a bad idea. This would give chance to several gospel artistes in the fold who believe they have all it takes to praise God and as well bringing thousands of audience into one singular realm of worship.

My expectations are clear: I’d like to see the best to be picked. And I will be ready to praise God from within my soul, as always.

Yes, I am sure I’d emerge as one of the selected. It is not by man, but by God, and that has been my source from the beginning.

Olatunji Olusegun (Shegun Mercy – Omo Emi)

The idea is very good and okay. But I think the selection number should also be more than six for many are in Seraphim that need to be assisted which that’s their only means in which they survive.

Actually every one can’t be there as present in mini mega concert so those to selected should do what they know best.

I know by God’s grace with the gift he gave me i  am one of the 6 that will be selected in Jesus Christ mighty name.

FERE JESU AND CHARIS CREW

It’s a great step by the committee in order to avoid being bias. This idea would drive all my colleagues in seraph to not only believe in spirituality when it comes to music but we should also work more on our skills and learn more for a balanced result.

Do I see my self being part of the few to be selected? Sure!!! Everybody wish for this but the main purpose I accepted to go for the mini concert is to win more souls for Christ as it’s a big platform to achieve the aim and change the mentality of other denominations that we bring in canal music to our church.
