“I am on a mission to lend my voice to propagate the Gospel of Christ, so I’m presently doing voiceover for 100 churches absolutely free.
John the Baptist was recorded as the voice crying in the wilderness to make the way of the Lord straight. But here in this generation, we also have voices telling us to maintain the way of the Lord, be good ambassadors of Christ and prepare for His Second Coming. Among such voices is Seraph Temitayo Joseph Idowu, with the brand name, Mouthpiece.
Seraph Mouthpiece is a Voiceover artist, and an Emcee. He has anchored many wedding programmes, birthdays and he is the brain behind @proudlyseraph on Instagram and Facebook social media.
With respect to the economy trend, most people use their talents at a price for the furtherance of the work of God, some with subsidized cost, but Seraph Mouthpiece is on a divine mission to do jingles for 100 churches; for the fold and other denominations at a free cost, “I am on a mission to lend my voice to propagate the gospel of Christ, so I’m presently doing voiceover for 100 churches absolutely free, so far, I have worked with more churches than c&s as it stands, though we’re still counting”.
This to him is a way of showing gratitude to God for discovering him and also as a means to spread the name of Jesus.
“I was having a meditation, it just dropped into my mind that for me to say thank you to God I could actually lend my voice to propagate the gospel. And how can I do it, I’ll have to do free jingles for churches, for any program that is about Jesus, that is spreading the gospel, and that is how I came about it. It’s a way to say thank you Jesus for self discovery, its a way to say thank you Jesus for adding another year to me”, disclosd Seraph Mouthpiece.
According to him, the brand name ‘Mouthpiece’ came via revelation and God has used it to pave ways for him. “There was a long strike we had in school, probably six months. I was at home, meditating with God. I really wanted a stage name, a brand name that was going to push me out. I was having so many things in my head and all of a sudden, the verse, ye are gods, sons of the Most High, Ps 82:6 dropped into my spirit and I just wrote into the paper I had in front of me, MOUTHPIECE!
I’ve anchored so many programmes, church programmes and wedding. But the first event I anchored with the name Mouthpiece, was a birthday in Ibadan Poly. We had our shirt customized and everybody that saw the name behind the shirt were commenting and exclaiming on how I arrived at the name. That was when I knew the hand and glory of God was on the name, and I bless God it has paved way, people ask if am an activist, I’m just mouthpiece, the mouthpiece of God, the mouth piece of entertainment”, stated Seraph Mouthpiece.
Aside the voice, it would also interest you to know that Seraph Temitayo is also a actor. He started writing drama script as at the tender age of 8, he was made a drama coordinator of his fellowship for two consecutive terms and he is an implementation officer of the drama team of his church Restoration Chapel CSMC.
“I started my acting career long ago, i was around eight when I wrote my first script. I can’t actually remember the title, but it has to do with a boy that was born in an herbalist house but he was chosen by God. Thank God for my family, they accepted it and they helped me in my church. Also, when I got to school, i still continued acting, i became the HOD drama cord for two tenures 2008/2009, 2009/2010 academic session, at Unification, OOU, Place of Grace.
I have featured in many stage dramas, “Shine Forth movie, my own drama skit on VolumeUp Tv YouTube channel titled “Suicide is Cowardly”. I am trying to gather some piece together on “Domestic violence: The Hidden Path”, I’m also working on a Radio Drama, as also one of the ways to reach out to people. God is blessing me with ideas, i try to put them down and I try to pursue them as time unfolds”, said Seraph Mouthpiece.
He is also featuring in a series on Africa Magic, “I have not actually done lots of movies, but I think I’ve done lots of stage plays. I did a series, i was aired and still airing on the then Africa Magic Showcase but now airing in Africa Magic Family, Jemeji. I am one of the Oviyon boys. God just proved himself, I thought I was just going to be a day player, by I end up doing over 70 episodes”, revealed Seraph Mouthpiece. What an embodiment of talents!
Speaking on the peculiarities of the fold, Seraph Mouthpiece declares his love for the communion with The Holy Spirit and our Spirit-filled hymns, “The thing I cherish mostly in the fold is the power of the Holy Ghost and the Hymns. The hymns are spiritual, it’s just a supplement to the Bible, it completes the Bible for someone that knows the value of the hymn. It has an answer for anything one is going through.
He expressed joy that the fold has moved from the era of relying on doctrines that does not have root in the Bible and now relying on the profound knowledge, wisdom, understanding embedded in the Word of God and on the power of the Holy Spirit, “Then they weren’t too learned and were tossed aaround by doctrines and words does not have their root in the bible. But now we are exposed, we can read, we mix with other people, we know that they are not super humans, they are not like us and we have our root in the Bible. When you give me a vision that does not have the backing of the the Holy Ghost, i just know, and if i don’t know, i know that I can call God Abba Father through Christ Jesus, so through that way I don’t need to run to any prophet to pray for me to get revelations”.
He however urged members of the fold desist from the acts of celebrating gifts instead of celebrating God, the likes of which if done would be profitable unto us, “If I am placed in a position to change something in C&S or adjust, i would change the sole believe and the celebration of the gift than the giver. I think in C&S till date, people still celebrate the gift than the giver. Speaking in tongues, falling in trance is a bit bastardized and it is swaying people off the line. They don’t even know the giver of the gift instead of celebrating the giver. When you are rooted in the word you’ll know that God is the giver of every good and perfect gift. If you know the giver then you’ll know the principle to go about in managing your own gift”
He also applauded the youths for upholding the tenets of Faith and being positive change in the fold, “Concerning the youth, we are evolving, we are moving. I like it when people say you don’t sound like a C&S member nor move like one, then I began to think on how does a C&S member behave. That which we need to do, we are already doing it, ‘awa ni iyo aye’. The youths of C&S God is really blessing us
The problem we had before is the few youths that got exposed to the word of God and modern education do not see themselves being fit in their mother churches, so they move to other denominations. But now, we have so many youths getting exposed to education in tertiary institutions and the Word of God, they saw the raw Words of God, how youths manifest the gifts of the Holy Spirit, how we can walk in God’s righteousness. Getting back to mother churches in their numbers, the church would give the youth a segment and from there they begin to affect the church positively, the gospel begins to spread, things begin to take positive turn around, and i think that is what we are doing now. That’s why I said we are evolving, ‘kini yio kehin aye, Kerubu pelu Serafu, gege bi oko Noah’, expressed Seraph Mouthpiece.
