Esther Ajayi Scholarship Recipient, Tunmise Adeyemi Bags First-Class Law Degree
Seraph Tunmise Adeyemi, a recipient of a scholarship from Rev. Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi, has graduated with first-class honours in law from the University of Ibadan.
Tunmise impressed Mother Ajayi by reciting Psalm 119 from memory at the C&S Unification 94th Seraphim Day celebration held in 2019.
The Psalm is the longest chapter in the Bible with 176 verses.
Mother Ajayi and her husband, Reverend Ademuyiwa Ajayi followed Tunmise with rapt attention by opening their Bible to ensure Tunmise actually read it as they had heard about her.
As the young Seraph got to Chapter 176 without any mistake, Mama Ajayi jumped up from her seat and embraced Tunmise who was being cheered by the congregation.
She instantly awarded her scholarship and promised to ensure she had the best of education anywhere in the world.
Leading a special thanksgiving session on Sunday at the Love of Christ Generation Church headquarters in Lagos, Tunmise expressed gratitude to God, while she appreciated the clergywoman for her support.
The young female Seraph who was flanked by her family said, “I want to return all glory to the Lord. He has shown Himself to be the God of my journey in numerous ways. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi. Thanks for your love and support.
“I want to thank my parents for their support in every way, I could not have asked for a better parent. I want to thank all Seraphs for their goodwill and prayers. I pray His goodness shall follow me as I embark on my Law School journey any moment from now.”
Speaking on her academic feat, Tunmise’s father, Superintendent Apostle Muyiwa Adeyemi said Mother Ajayi had since the declaration been faithful to her pledge.
He added that his daughter graduated with the first class degree all to the glory of God and through encouragement.
He said, “By providence, she was able to have an encounter with Mama after reciting Psalm 119. She never knew that she was my daughter. It was after that that she got to know. Mama said for her to have done this, she would give her a scholarship. Since that time Mama has been faithful to that.
“After that, there was a lot of pressure on her. Then I told her Mama has a special interest in you and you have to reciprocate by not letting her down. For her to have graduated with first class in law at the University of Ibadan is to the glory of God and encouragement.”
Tunmise had disclosed that her mum, Mother in Isreal Grace Adeyemi was instrumental in how she was able to memorise the portion of the scripture.
She noted that her mother asked her when she was 14 years old to memorise the whole of Psalm 119 ahead of the Juvenile anniversary of her local church as far back as 2015.
Tunmise who claimed to have, at first, thought of how impossible it was says she soon obliged, just as she was constantly encouraged by her mother until she was able to recite without hassle.
Her words, “The whole story started from my mother when she asked me a few days to celebrate our Children’s anniversary to recite Psalm 119. I said it was not possible but she pleaded with me to give it a trial and I was surprised to make it then. I was only 14 years old and SSS 2. But she kept on encouraging me to constantly read it. She is a mother in a million and a huge pillar of support”.
Immediately after reciting the Psalm, the Legal Adviser of the Church, Supt Apostle General Wale Taiwo (SAN), gave Tunmise N100, 000 in appreciation of her brilliance.
Also, the Supreme Head of the Church, His Most Eminence, Dr. Prophet Solomon Adegboyega Alao volunteered to mentor her and urged her to continue to make the C & S proud.
“From today, you are my daughter, I will mentor you”, Baba Alao said.
It is worthy of note that Mother Ajayi who heard about Tunmise’s exploit initiated her coming for the programme and encouraged the Planning Committee to include reciting of Psalm 119 in the program of event for the day.
