Let’s Focus On Empowerment, Not Tithe Alone – Sholoye Tasks C&S leaders

The Deputy Superintendent of Faith Mission C&S church Inc., Dr. Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye has called on leaders in the Cherubim and Seraphim church to initiate empowerment programmes for youths and women in the fold.

She said this will help to nip poverty in the bud among members who are striving to make ends meet.

Speaking during her presentation of a paper titled: “Pull Down The Barrier” at the 2019 Annual General Conference, she stated that the leaders should not only be concerned with collection of tithes and donations from members but endeavour to initiate programmes that will put food to their tables.

Her words: “Our fathers should begin to initiate programmes that will take our people out of poverty and bring food to their tables.”

“A hungry man is said to be an angry man. We must not only concern ourselves with collection of tithe and donations from our members. We need a lot of empowerment programmes for our women and youths.”

“We should remember that an idle hand is always available for the devil to be made use of. So, genuine empowerment programmes are needed to help eradicate poverty among our members”.

“The kind of empowerment being done across the country by my humble self through the Dr. Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye Foundation and some other well spirited members of the church should be encouraged and sustained by the church.” She said.

Dr. Sholoye who is a renowned philanthropist is the brain behind the New Seraph Initiative which was launched on Wednesday, August 22, 2018.

The initiative under which the Seraph Youth Arise births focuses on empowering youths in the C&S fold.

The programme is fast spreading across the country.
