Global evangelist and Philantropist, Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi has enjoined priviledged Nigerians to throw their weight behind the government by supporting its social welfare programmes aimed at ameliorating the sufferings of the poor in the country.
The female clergy who made this known during her visit to the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) led by Honorable Alawiye King said such gesture, as expected of well-to-do citizens should go beyond paying of taxes.
Mother Ajayi who visited the board to equally felicitate with one of the newly appointed Board Members, Honourable Dayo Israel was conducted round a school facility in Kosofe area of Lagos state.
She however expressed her intent to support the administration of Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwoolu and the board through her foundation.
In her address while speaking with the management officials at the SUBEB boardroom, she said: “I am a fan of His Excellency, Babajide Sanwoolu.
Government must not be left alone with the job of providing social welfare to the poor and less privilege. As citizens, especially privileged citizens, we must go beyond paying our taxes, to supporting people in communities around us and everywhere God leads us. Also I am happy for Bro Dayo, I wanted to come and celebrate with him on his appointment and pray for him”.
Hon Israel who was on hand to receive Mother Ajayi commended her for her continuous prayers and support. “I am very grateful that Mama out of her busy schedule found time to come celebrate with me, and also to use the opportunity to identify schools she can adopt and renovate or rebuild. She is a Mother Theresa in this generation and history will be kind to her”, he said.
Mother Ajayi was accompanied by some members of LOC.
