Eminent personalities on Saturday took turns to shower torrents of encomium on the leadership and entire members of the Holy Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Surulere District, on the occasion of the golden jubilee anniversary of the fold.
The District was also applauded for upholding the core tenets of Christianity in the area of soul winning and waxing a couple of gospel records that have spanned decades.
The 50th interdenominational thanksgiving service with the theme: “Celebrating God’s Faithfulness” (Lam 3:23) was held at the main auditorium of the District Headquarters situated at Kilometre 4, Apapa Oshodi expressway, Surulere, Lagos.
Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in his goodwill message said the anniversary calls for celebration and thanksgiving, given the faithfulness of God over the years.
Sanwo-Olu who was a special guest of honour also rejoiced with the District, as he prayed that the event would usher in new beginning of greater achievements for the leadership and members of the church.
Represented by his Special Adviser on Religious matters (Christian) Reverend Bukola Adeleke, the governor implored the leadership of the Holy Order to keep promoting holiness, peace and tranquillity among the members of the fold and their immediate community.
“As we bask in the euphoria of this joyous moment, may I urge us to rededicate ourselves to the responsibilities we shoulder as Christians. And more importantly, I implore our fathers in the Lord present here to rise to the occasion by showing more steadfastness and using your God-given position to promote holiness, peace and tranquility among the members and their community,” he partly stated.
The governor also appreciated the church for the invitation, adding that he covets their prayers for God’s divine intervention in the affairs of Lagos state.
The Supreme Head of C&S Unification Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Prophet (Dr) Solomon Adegboyega Alao JP, in his goodwill message said the District is a trailblazer and a catalyst in the general development of the C&S church, both locally and internationally, as well as propagating the gospel through inspiring soulful religious music and radio evangelism.
Represented by the chairman Ecclesiastical Council of the Church, Baba Aladura Owomoyela, he said the impact of the District through its various contributions cannot be overemphasized or appreciated enough. “While congratulating you on your various achievements in the journey so far, I pray that God continue to uphold you and empower you to wax stronger for greater exploits,” he added.
The spiritual leader of CSMC worldwide, His Eminence Reverend S.A Abidoye, on his part congratulated the district on their golden jubilee anniversary. While describing it as a milestone, he said it marks the beginning of more exploits. He however charged the leadership and members to double their efforts in soul winning as they begin another journey.
Ably represented by the General Leader of Osogbo District, Special Apostle Mosadomi, the spiritual leader also prayed that the church will continue to grow from strength to strength.
Extolling the virtues of the late founder, Prophet G.O Fakeye, Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi of Love of Christ Generation Church, said he was a diligent cleric and his diligence still speaks till date. While she claimed that she didn’t come in contact with him before he passed on, she said her believe was that the late founder is on the right side of God.
In his exhortation titled: “God is ever faithful, ever sure”, with reference to 1Corinthians 1 vs 9, the continental evangelist of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor J. T Kalajaye, said the faithfulness of God to the church, its members and mankind is without doubt.
The cleric who revealed that he started his Christian journey as a member of the C&S church, said there are certain promises God made to the founding fathers of the church. He charged members of the fold to continually operate within the will of God, as it’s the only condition for the outright fulfillment of the promises.
Speaking earlier in his keynote address, the General Leader of the District, Prophet S.F Korode, glorified God who led the late founder, Prophet G.O Fakeye and other elders to start the church through the enablement of the Holy Spirit.
He also appreciated members, friends and well wishers who have continually demonstrated their support, encouragement and understanding over the years.
The General leader whose speech was conveyed by the District General Secretary, Special Apostle G.O Ogunleye, commended the elders for their labour of love and endurance, as well as the genuine commitment of the members who, through thick and thin, have demonstrated absolute and unyielding faith in love, uncommon devotion and loyalty to the fold.
