C&S Clerics Task Seraphs On Evangelism, Holiness

Recommendations meant to advance the cause of the Cherubim and Seraphim church were generously offered during a talk show and praise party held in Lagos on Thursday in commemoration of the 5th anniversary of C&S Ambassadors.

The talk show which came up on the sideline of the event, featured renowned clerics in the fold.

These include, Special Apostle Akin Owolabi of Chapel of Restoration; Itinerant preacher, Pastor Segun Micheal; Prophetess in Charge of Mountain of Goodness and Mercy, Lady Prophet Funmi Arojah; The Deputy Shepherd CSMC Surulere District Youth Fellowship, Special Apostle Kehinde Showemimo and founder of Love of Christ Generation Church, Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi.

The clerics, in a no-holds-barred panel discussion moderated by Seraph Tinuola Oshuntokun, spoke about various issues pertaining to the church.

Special Apostle Akin Owolabi, whose submission opened the session recalled how the founder of the C&S church, St. Moses Orimolade Tunolase, prioritised evangelism and impacted lives through the help of the Holy Spirit.

He said, “Our patriarch, St. Moses Orimolade and our matriach, Captain Abiodun Emmanuel, had just one thing in common and that is evangelism. That was the seed sown in the Cherubim and Seraphim society as it was called then and which has metamorphosed into the Cherubim and Seraphim Church as it were today. If peharps you are a member of this church and evangelism does not take center stage in whatever you do, I am afraid one must have missed the way”

He reiterated that the church was known as the last ark of salvation which must fulfil its mission, adding that measures were in place by C&S Unification to absorb more members in order to control and correct where necessary.

Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi, who spoke in the same vein urged parents, particularly women in the fold to provide their children with sufficient knowledge about the church.

She said, “As women, we did evangelism first in the bible. We saw Jesus Christ first after the resurrection and we went to tell everyone. Women are so powerful and our voice in anything is so important. As we are the university that our children first learn from, we should tell them more about the church. The women should also organize a congress with representatives from all the existing pillars in the church.”

Mother Ajayi added that the fruit of the Holy Spirit should be the hallmark of every member of the church, just as she harped on love and unity among the brethren.

Pastor Segun Michael, said beyond harmonising interest in the church, existing ministries needed to carry the real fire the founding fathers were known with.

He said, “Our ministries don’t carry the fire we are looking for. We have entertainment, skills and education, but do we really have the fire our father had in their time? I also have problem with the fact that if we commit it to entertainment, we will bring more reproach to our church than ever. If there is going to be revival in the church, it is not about congregating. It is about the fire going around like stream until the whole sect of the church is on fire.

“If you gather people without establishing the essence of the gathering, you will transmit error and error will be the universal language and that is the trouble we have on ground. We should start holding meetings that are not dedicated to fun but to Christ.”

He explained that a vision shared in the church without roots in the bible is occultic, adding that holiness is the watchward of the C&S church and not just a slogan.

Special Apostle Kehinde Showemimo said remarkable things were happening in the church and did not necessarily have to be publicised before people could reckon with the church.

He said, “We are worshipping God. All we need is for the Spirit of God to lead us and we should to be patient. God is not man. We are looking at what is happening on the left and what is happening on the right instead of us to focus on God who is leading us. So many miracles are happening in the church but we do not have to announce it to the public. We are moving forward as a church, and anyone who is not ready to join us can choose to go back.”

Lady Prophetess Funmi Arojah said a C&S member rooted in Jesus Christ had no reason to run helter skelter.

She said, “Ever since I joined this church, I have never had cause to regret. It has never been a mistake to be part of this church, and wherever I go, I am proud to announce to people that I am a member of the church. If you are C&S member and you are running helter skelter, that means you do not know who you are. If you can’t stand on your feet, that means you do not believe in Christ Jesus.

“Jesus never preached church. He only preached salvation. What I tell the younger ones and my children is that Jesus is the way the truth and the life. And if you do not have Jesus, you do not have anything.”
