After Soyinka’s win, another white garment church member clinches AMVCA award

Singer and song writer, Kent Edunjobi, won the Best Soundtrack (Movie/TV Series) award at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA), which held on Saturday at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Edunjobi is the leader of the popular Apex Choir of the International Headquarters of the Celestial Church of Christ, Ketu.

His award prize comes after a member of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Seraph Korede Soyinka, emerged as a winner at the 2022 edition of the award ceremony.

The multi-talented filmmaker and screenwriter, who attends C & S Movement Church, Surulere District, Ayobo branch, won in the category of the best short film.

A visibly-delighted Edunjobi, while receiving the prestigious award, had said, “This is my first time at the AMVCA, my first nomination and my first winning. This can only be God; this is my Ebenezeri. Thank you! Thank you, Mr Kunle Afolayan. Thank you for taking me as your brother and your son. Thank you to my lovely wife. Thank you to my CCC family, Apex Choir. Thank you to everyone who has supported Kent.”

Edunjobi became an internet sensation a few weeks before the event following the release of the hit song “Ebenezeri”.

The song which gained massive traction on social media is one of the tracks in the newly launched album by the Apex Choir.
