Members of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church, Lagos State chapter were unmindful of the Friday downpour as they observed the Holy Michael Day joint service held at the National Stadium, Surulere Lagos State.
The joint service which was the first of its kind was held across other states of the federation.
In Lagos, Seraphs turned out in their hundreds as they embarked on a procession to mark the annual celebration.
Donning their white prayer gowns with red girdles, the delighted Seraphs filed out of the stadium and marched through the corridors of the Surulere community.
Leading a convoy of eminent Seraphs present was the Supreme Head of the church, His Most Eminence Prophet Dr. Solomon Adegboyega Alao. He was joined by Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi, her husband, Reverend Ademuyiwa, members of the National Ecclesiastical Council of Council and executives across all levels in the state.
The convoy snailed through the crowd of Seraphs who were singing hymnals, accompanied by the blaring sound of vuvuzelas.
The rain which started midway into the procession could not stop the celebrants as they continued while their garments got drenched.
The procession later terminated at the national stadium where they all returned and held the service proper.
The service featured rounds of prayers, including a word of exhortation by Mother Esther Ajayi.
While delivering his speech, the supreme head said the maiden joint service was a unique one being the first ever. He also urged the congregants to join hands to build a virile indivisible church.
“This is our mission, this is our motto henceforth. It is a duty we owe our creator,” he added.
