Agelu 2026: Expect Divine Encounter, Baba Aladura Akintobi Tells Worshippers

The Baba Aladura of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church Agbojesu, His Eminence Prophet Samuel Ajayi Akintobi (Arojibikah II), has urged Christians and other worshippers to attend this year’s Agelu Convention with faith and great expectation, assuring them of divine encounters.

Akintobi, who spoke ahead of the 93rd Annual Agelu Convention on Thursday, said the gathering remained a sacred platform for spiritual renewal, revival and divine direction.

The Secretary-General of the Church, Oluwaseunfunmi Sodunnke, who spoke on his behalf during a chat with this platform, described the convention as one of the most significant events in the Cherubim and Seraphim Church.

He said the convention, themed “Advancing Steadfastly in the Lord” and drawn from Philippians 3:13-14, would challenge believers to remain unwavering in their faith despite the economic, social and spiritual challenges confronting the nation.

“The Annual Convention of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church is more than a yearly event; it is a divine appointment that reflects the vision upon which the Church was founded through God’s servant, St. Moses Orimolade Tunolase,” he said.

According to him, this year’s convention also marks the 93rd anniversary of the annual worship on Agelu Mountain, a covenant established through the ministry of Prophet Alfred Ajayi Akintobi (Arojibikah I), where believers gather yearly to worship, seek God’s face and receive divine direction.

Explaining the significance of this year’s theme, the clergyman said God was calling His people to remain steadfast in a world marked by uncertainty and increasing spiritual distractions.

“In a world filled with uncertainties, distractions and increasing spiritual challenges, God is calling His people to remain steadfast, courageous and focused on Christ. The Convention is designed to strengthen believers to press forward in faith regardless of life’s circumstances, with the assurance that God remains faithful,” he said.

He noted that participants should expect powerful worship sessions, biblical teachings, fervent prayers, prophetic ministrations, healing, deliverance, counselling and opportunities for deeper fellowship with other believers.

He added that the church would also introduce new initiatives aimed at making this year’s convention more impactful and spiritually enriching.

“We remain committed to embracing positive developments that will enhance worship, improve organisation and create an atmosphere where lives can be transformed by the power of God,” he said.

Speaking on the country’s economic and social challenges, he urged Nigerians not to despair but to continue placing their confidence in God.

“My message is simple yet profound: this is not the time to lose hope or become discouraged. Regardless of the economic, social or personal challenges confronting us, our confidence must remain in God.

“We should continue to pray for our leaders, our nation and the Church, asking God to grant wisdom, peace and righteous leadership at every level,” he said.

The Baba Aladura invited Christians and members of the public to attend the convention with unwavering faith.

“I warmly invite everyone to this year’s 93rd Annual Convention of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church Agbojesu. Come with faith, expectation and a heart ready to encounter God. We believe that no one who genuinely seeks Him will return empty-handed,” he said.
