Ona Iwa Mimo Oke Ayo Unveils Medical Facility At 50th Anniversary, Targets N5bn Auditorium

The Cherubim and Seraphim, Ona Iwa Mimo Oke Ayo, has unveiled a multi-million naira clinic project at its 50th anniversary celebration held on Saturday at the church’s Holy Mount Koseunti prayer and convention ground along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway opposite Redemption Camp.

The clinic was initiated as part of the vision of the late founder of the church, Prophetess Maria Ogunyooye.

The Local Organising Committee chairman, Prophetess Adeola Adelaja, had announced the planned unveiling during a press briefing held recently.

She also revealed plans to construct an auditorium estimated at N5bn to accommodate the church’s growing activities.

Adelaja said the late founder had two major projects in mind for the campground, but the church decided to commence with the clinic as part of efforts to progressively fulfil her vision.

She said, “When her mother was alive, she had two things in her heart. One was that she wanted us to have a clinic on the campground. She also wanted us to have a big auditorium. She was looking at a plan for the auditorium.

“So we now decided that if we can’t actualise both things, we should take a step. We should move forward. So we now decided to construct a building for the clinic.

“So today, we are unveiling that building. Everybody will see that mama has gone, but the children are still moving forward. And we also plan to start with the auditorium after the anniversary.”

However, she noted that the clinic was yet to be equipped, explaining that the church opted for an unveiling rather than a commissioning because the facility was not ready to commence operations.

She said, “The building is ready. We still need to furnish it. That is why we call it unveiling because we can’t commission something that has no equipment.”

She disclosed that about N40m was required to equip the clinic and make it fully operational, appealing to well-meaning individuals to support the church in completing the project.

Adelaja added that the church would commence work on the proposed auditorium after the anniversary.

Speaking on the history of the church, the church chairman, Sp. Ap. Pro. Olusegun Adelaja, recalled that Ogunyooye established the ministry in 1976, making the ongoing celebration its 50th anniversary.

He said the church had celebrated its 40th anniversary 10 years ago, alongside the founder’s 70th year of prophetic calling.

He said, “Mummy started here in 1976. So, 10 years ago, she celebrated a 70-year calling as a prophetess and celebrated 40 years of founding this place. So, 10 years later, we are celebrating the golden jubilee.”

The spiritual leader of the church, Her Eminence Prophetess Marian E.A. Talabi, said the golden jubilee provided an opportunity to reflect on the church’s journey, honour its past leaders and members, and strengthen its future.

Talabi also emphasised the importance of nurturing the younger generation, noting that the late founder believed strongly in preparing youths to take up leadership responsibilities.

“Our youth are future leaders. They are leaders of tomorrow. But before her demise, she believed that the youths are the leaders of today,” she said.

The anniversary celebration featured an anniversary lecture, a gala and awards, a medal rally, a prophetic programme and the main anniversary service.

The celebration also honoured past leaders and members of the church while highlighting its vision for the next phase of its development.
