For Senior Apostolic Mother Prophetess Janet Adeoti Akekaka, attaining a revered age of 95 years can only be a testament to God’s immeasurable grace upon her life.
Born on the 6th of September, 1925, to the family of Maradesa in Atisbo Local Goverment, Irawo, Oyo State – Nigeria, Mama is the founder of C&S Ogo Oluwa 1(Glory of God church) situated at 28, Esepe road Ile-epo Araromi bus-stop, Badagry Expressway, Lagos.
Checks by Acts of Seraphs into her background revealed that Mama has spent a sufficient portion of her existence serving in God’s vineyard and engaging in series of spiritual assignments.
The nonagenarian, at a young age, may not have cut a picture of one who would end up in a full time ministry, but as fate would have it, the call to service became sacrosanct, such that she could not resist, but held it so dearly to her chest.
Meanwhile, anytime opportunity presents itself for mama to attest to God’s faithfulness, and how He has so far journeyed with her over the years, she relives memories of testimonies and unimaginable exploits her creator has availed her. This, notwithstanding, her trying times, too.
As Mama marks her birthday on Sunday, the need to extol her virtues became necessary, as her immediate family plans to celebrate her.

It is also worth to note that Mama is the wife of renowned C&S prophet, elder Joseph Olaogun Akekaka (of blessed memory). And this apparently makes her one of the few oldest prominent figures the Cherubim and Seraphim church currently boasts of.
That mama was born the same year the C&S church was founded may not pass for a coincidence, but sharing the same month with the fold can’t be less significant of her trajectory and accomplishments as a Seraph.
Going by her track record, Mama has proven that she is not in this world to live for herself alone, as she has mentored and raised spiritual sons and daughters who are doing well in their respective ministries.
At 95, age has somewhat failed to take its toll on Mama, as she still take up some spiritual engagements. She also attends to people who come for personal prayers. You may also be surprised that she equally attends vigils, including weekly and Sunday services. But she doesn’t go for outings.
That she also moves around without any support makes one wonders where she derives her strength from.
While speaking with Acts of Seraphs, Mama said she feels very happy to have attained such age. According to her, it’s a function of God’s grace as she least expected to still be alive till now. Although, she claimed she once wished that God took her away from this world, “but God owns life”, she retorted .

On her journey so far, Mama had her first ever ordination in March 1958 as Aladura at Oke Sioni in Ibadan. Four years later, she was ordained as prophetess at Agelu Jerusalem by baba Oluwale Agbojesu II.
From there, Mama moved to Igboho to serve with Baba Aladura Adeola Ona Iwa Mimo, where she spent a little over 6 years before she got the leading of the Holy Spirit to proceed to Maroko Beach in Lagos, during the regime of General Yakubu Gowon who offered them land to built house at the beach. With over four years at the location, Mama soon moved to number 148 Usor street, Oko Baba Sule in Ajegunle where she rented a shop to start a worship center. Surprisingly, she decided to quit God’s work seven years after.
But Mama’s exit from full time ministry didn’t make her idle, as she thereafter moved to Apapa where she opened a food canteen and started making cool money. She had spent four and half years in the business until the day she embarked on a trip to purchase raw food for the next day. While on the boat she often ferries to commute her food items, she mistakenly fell in the lagoon. She was later rescued by a fisherman after which she ended up at the hospital.
The incident unbeknown to Mama was a caution to her to return to the ministry she once abandoned. This further became clearer to her when God sent Prophet Omole from Idasa Ilesha in Osun state, who took to her to Ilesha where she spent another 3years serving. Her husband, Baba Akekaka would later locate her in Ilesha. The search for her by Baba Akekaka was because mama left home for years through the direction of God.
From Ilesha, mama went back to the beach to continue with the work of her heavenly Father because, according to her, the Lord has warned her to carry the cross if she doesn’t want to lose her life.
Mama spent one year at the beach, then she moved fully into ministry. She therefore started moving from one place to another to evangelize. After touring the villages in Osun and Ekiti states, she settled for a while at Ori Oke Ladun at Ikare in Ondo state.
Mama later went back to her home town, Irawo, and stayed for a while before she moved back to Lagos. On getting to Lagos, she rented a 6-room apartment at Ligali in Ajegunle. This was because she had at that time quite a number of entourage that follow her to whereever she goes. Being the second time, she rented a shop meant for a worship center at the same compound. Fortune, however, smiled on Mama when the owner of the compound gave her more space to expand and build a church. This was not unconnected to a miracle he received from God through mama’s prayer.
This was where she spent 15 good years before she moved to Coker in 1987 where she acquired a land at Alafia street and she spent nine and half years. Mama soon had to move away from Coker because of the way erosion disturbed her there, but then, God told mama that She’ll move to a place where no one has ever built a house or live.
On 5th June, 1998, Mama, through the help of one of her daughter in the Lord, Pro. Yemisi Savoeda, finally moved to Ile-epo Araromi where she built a church till this day.
In the course her ministry, mama suffered and encountered many challenges but God saw her through.
Mama has worked with great men of God, where she served diligently. God has also used her to performed many miracles.
We pray God bless Mama’s new age.
